‘Kuapay’ : QR code for mobile payments

Kuapay, a new mobile payment app on the block developed by super talented engineers in Santa Monica.

Users can enter their credit card information to make payments wherever accepted via a smartphone. To make a payment, the user logs into the app using a PIN number and shows the QR code on the screen to the cashier. The cashier scans it to charge the customer.

In addition to making payments, the app also saves users transaction history, loyalty program points and gives discounts and offers.

The only draw back is the user may be excited to use this app and find it useful but unless the merchants do not upgrade their point-of-sale software customers cannot use this method of payment.

Looking forward to find out more from customers on their experience. However watching the video above tells me it saves time and is easy to use. It is currently available for iPhone, BlackBerry and Android devices.
